About the Author(s)

Arthur Khong first began his career as a Senior Police Officer with the Singapore Police Force after which he embarked on a career in the field of human resource management and development. He started as Human Resource Administrator with Western Digital Pte Ltd in 1993 and climbed the corporate ladder to be the Director of Human Resources, Hotels of Far East Organization, Group Regional Vice President, Human Resources of Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd and General Manager, Human Resources of Keppel Energy Pte Ltd.

In May 2013, Arthur incorporated HR Law Academy Pte Ltd specializing in training and consultancy on employment laws and industrial relations. In his 21 years of HR career, other than overseeing the HR operations in Singapore, he also oversaw the HR functions in Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Arthur is currently an Adjunct Faculty with the Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSim). He embarked on his lecturer stint in 2009 with UniSIM where he lectures the following modules: Employment Laws and Legal Issues; Employment and Industrial Relations; and Human Resource Management. Arthur also lectures in Business Law and Staffing and Employee Development for Diploma in Management Studies and Graduate Diploma in HR Management respectively, under the umbrella of SIM Global Education.

Arthur is a Council Member and Chairman of the Employment Laws and Industrial Relations Committee of the Singapore Human Resource Institute, Non-Practitioner
Member of the Law Society of Singapore and Fellow Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitration. He was also formerly the Industrial Relations Panel Member with Singapore National Employer Federation where he was Chairman of Industrial (Other Areas) Group.
